URA X PCCC Online Conference

The URA was invited to participate in the online conference “Post-Colonial Narratives in South Asia”, organised by the Pakistan Chowk Community Center (PCCC). Comprising five sessions, the conference explored urbanism, infrastructure, design, heritage preservation, indigenous practices, ecology, and climate change. It was part of +921HeritageTalks, a student-led initiative by Marvi Mazhar that engages communities in dialogues on heritage preservation, cultural rejuvenation, and making heritage relevant today. Seher Naveed and Veera Rustomji contributed to the second session “Decolonization: Post-Independence Art and Architecture in South Asia”, presenting pedagogical concerns and projects from IVS Fine Art, with emphasis on fieldwork and documenting diverse materials and processes across Karachi’s urban and peripheral landscapes.
